November 19, 1999, is the first worldwide GIS Day. This global event is being principally sponsored by the National Geographic Society, Association of American Geographers, and Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (ESRI). Hundreds of organizations around the world are hosting a GIS Day event in their community. The GIS Day celebration is an event designed to help schools, businesses, and the general public become aware of how GIS affects their lives every day and is being used in decision-making to meet the challenges of growth and improved quality of life in their communities. The goal is to educate 1,000,000 people about GIS. On behalf of the Interdisciplinary Spatial Information Systems (ISIS) Center at California State University, Fresno and the Fresno Spatial Information Systems Regional Sponsors, we would like to invite you to attend our first GIS Day event. Please follow the links at our web page to get additional information on the conference.
We hope to see and meet you at the GIS Day Conference.
