I. FYI or for discussion.
A. HUD is reworking their data with
ESRI to make it available to state and local government. http://www.fcw.com/civic/articles/2000/august/civ-comm1-08-00.asp
II. Subcommittee Status Reports.
A. Administration Subcommittee: Chair: Hal Eidal.
Defined Objective: Develop ISIS Center
implementation plans – Director, Kathy Moffitt.
1. Discuss status of the license agreement. Setup the next meeting with the Regional Sponsors Administration Subcommittee.
2. Establish the Valley-wide Coordination Team at the ISIS Center.
3. Prepare/organize slide shows & exhibits demonstrating the benefits of regional SIS coordination.
B. Street Names & Addressing: Chair: Kathy Chung. Drafting letter to member agencies, FED-EX, UPS, PAC-BELL, post office, etc. to outline address and street name problems.
Defined Objective: Identify and standardize street naming and
address conventions.
1. Discuss January 13th meeting to review the street centerline database design.
C. Training Subcommittee: Chair: Bob Slobodian
Defined Objective: Develop data center,
training center and research & analysis services, regional standards for
spatial layers, data exchange procedures, applications, RFP’s for computer hardware
and software, ESRI User Group. Agencies provide internships to develop regional
applications. Each agency would send
staff to train using real life - local data that they could relate to. Each
agency will work with the University to schedule sessions and provide a
trainer. Provide product reviews.
1. Discuss plans for GIS Day 2000 November 15th.
2. Arcview GIS training
course designed for fire department applications in the Fresno area. Please contact
Inspector Randi Eisner, Fresno Fire Dept. at 498.4267. Course begins September
6, 2000.
D. Law Enforcement: Chair: Conrad Nerdahl (setting up a meeting)
Defined Objective: Integrate Police &
Sheriffs, Corrections, Parole & Probation and Criminal Justice.
1. County to city 100 megabit link.
2. Meeting with Pacific Bell to share address information.
E. Public Safety: Chair: Vacant/ Tim Stott or Joel Aranaz or Chief Madina (setting up a meeting)
Defined Objective: Integrate Emergency Medical
Systems (EMS), Fire and Disaster Planning.
1. Discuss status of mobile GIS/GPS hardware, software and applications.
F. Standards - Data Processing/Telecommunications Subcommittee: Chair: Dan Westbrook. Building physical tree structure to house data at the ISIS Center.
Defined Objective: Review UNIX/AIX, NT, Hardware, Exceed, NFS, NIS, TCP/IP, Internet, Security and Communications. Locate Cable TV, P.G.&E. facilities and Pac-Bell facilities such as central office locations.
1. The ISIS Center and CSU, Fresno have been designated a Census Information Center.
2. Review & comment on the ISIS logo, designed by our Tulare County representative Julie Steincamp, and the latest updates to the ISIS web page http://www.isis.csufresno.edu.
3. The ISIS Center is under construction at CSU Fresno in room IT-104.
III. Regional Sponsor Issues.
A. Defining membership, financial relationship, information access and licensing agreement.
IV. Notes:
A. Bring the design of new layer to the Regional Coordination Team for review.
B. Converting Fresno County spatial data to California NAD 83 Zone 4.
C. November 7th meeting will be held in the Freedom Room at the Clovis Memorial District located at the NEC of Fifth Street and Hughes Avenue (across from the water tower).
