GIS Day 2002 in the San Joaquin Valley

In previous years, a keynote address and concurrent seminar sessions on a wide variety of GIS topics were scheduled and widely attended -- as demonstrated by the overflowing meeting rooms. Recognizing that we had vastly outgrown our facilities, we decided to change the format. This year will include a keynote address but otherwise it will be more of an open house event which will allow all GIS users to display their work in a Map Gallery. If you are a user of GIS, we encourage you to contribute an example of your work to the Map Gallery.

In the morning, a keynote address on the National Map will be presented by Vicki Lucas of the USGS. This will be followed by an open house Map Gallery and a session on "Getting Started with GIS" designed for those who want to know what GIS is and how they might be able to use it.

Please contact Kathy Moffitt (559-278-2415) if you would like to participate in GIS Day 2002.
