Regional GIS Users Group
Four times a year GIS users from around the San Joaquin Valley gather to share ideas, information and concerns about all issues related to GIS technology. Darin Loucks of ESRI presents software techniques and news about further software developments. Additional guest presenters are selected for each meeting. Topics that have been covered at previous meetings include Image Procurement and Analysis, Using the Geoprocessing Wizard and Geocoding practices. The next meeting is November 20, 2002 and will coincide with GIS Day. See below for information on GIS Day 2002. Get directions to CSUF and directions to the UBC.

Fresno Regional SIS - Coordination Team

The regional coordination team decides how information will be shared between various government agencies. The Regional SIS group meets once a month (first Tuesday). The next meeting is October 1, 2002. It will be held at the Fresno Metropolitan Flood Control District, 5489 E. Olive Ave., Fresno, 559-456-3292 from 9 AM to approx. Noon.

GIS Day 2002
GIS Day is a free, public event that exposes students, educators, business people and government to real-world applications of this important technology. GIS day is an international event composed of numerous local events. The ISIS Center hosts one such local event: GIS Day for the San Joaquin Valley at California State University Fresno. This year GIS Day falls on November 20th. The ISIS Center GIS Day event includes a keynote address on the National Map by Vicki Lucas of the USGS, a session for those with little or no knowledge of GIS but who want to get started, and an extensive Map Gallery display of maps produced by users of GIS in the San Joaquin Valley.
