GIS Day in the San Joaquin Valley

GIS Day 2007
Wednesday, November 14, 2007

California State University, Fresno
Henry Madden Library
Sponsored by the ISIS Center

GIS Day is a worldwide event with more than 80 countries participating by holding local events  to bring awareness to the area of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).  The ISIS Center proudly sponsors this annual event to showcase the practice of local GIS users for the community.  The primary focus is on real-world applications and how this important technology is making a difference in all our lives.

GIS Day is part of the National Geographic Society's new initiative, Geography Action, which is a year-long initiative encompassing key educational achievements such as GIS Day and Geography Awareness Week.  There will be many worldwide activities supporting geography action, with their goal being to engage people in learning about geographic information systems.

This year ISIS will have a map gallery on display at the Henry Madden Library from 10 AM to 1 PM.  The Henry Madden Library is located on the campus of California State University, Fresno.
It is a free event that is open to the public. If you have questions, please contact the ISIS Center at (559) 278-4951.
