With the release of ArcGIS 9.3 ESRI has revised their introductory Authorized Training materials and titled it “ArcGIS Desktop 9.3 Foundational Training Curriculum". The previous Introduction to ArcGIS offerings have been re-written, re-organized, re-packaged, and released.

Starting in January 2009, ISIS will continue to offer high-quality GIS training and begin teaching courses from this new foundational training program.  Robert Slobodian, the ISIS Center Director, who has many years of teaching and application experience, is an ESRI authorized by ESRI to teach the following courses:

ArcGIS Desktop II:   Tools and Functionality (3-days)
ArcGIS Desktop III:  GIS Workflows and Analysis (2-days)

Training courses are conducted in our training lab at the ISIS Center which is located in the Industrial Technology Building on the California State University, Fresno campus. Check the schedule below for upcoming training offerings and specific details about each course. If you have questions, call the ISIS Center at 278-4951 and we will be pleased to help sort out your specific GIS  training needs.
 

This course is designed for those with an education in or workplace experience with GIS but no ArcGIS software experience. This course assumes knowledge of basic GIS concepts and teaches the skills and knowledge needed to take additional ArcGIS courses, including ArcGIS Desktop III:  GIS Workflows and Analysis.

     Registration Fee:              $1,350 per person

                                                          Lunch daily from a local restaurant

ArcGIS Desktop III:  GIS Workflows and Analysis 

Building on the skills and knowledge taught in ArcGIS Desktop II: Tools and Functionality, this 2-day course shows how to apply ArcGIS tools in a workflow context with a focus on working with data stored in a geodatabase and performing geoprocessing and analysis. In the course exercises, you organize and edit data stored in a geodatabase, prepare data for analysis, create and edit geoprocessing models using ModelBuilder, and work through a challenging analysis project.

This course is designed for experienced ArcGIS users who want to learn more about the ArcGIS tools for creating and editing data and GIS analysis.  Students should have completed ArcGIS Desktop II or have equivalent knowledge.
