The following links connect to interactive map services that demonstrate the capabilities of ArcIMS. They include local data from the San Joaquin Valley. These applications work best in MS Internet Explorer 4+.

CSUF Campus Map

To search for buildings on campus use the following IMS demo:

Instructions:

1.)To display a specific layer (for instance to see parking lots), check the check box next to "buildings" in the "Layers" panel to the right of the map.
2.)When you turn on/off layers make sure you use "Refresh Map" button.

3.)To search for a specific building use the Search button and type in a building name in all upper-case letters.
4.)To find the name of a feature (building or parking lot) on the map use the identify tool to click on the object.
5.)Use the select tool to choose single or multiple building or parking lot features. Click on one building to select one, or click and drag a rectangle around multiple buildings.
6.)Use the buffer tool to select features in one layer that are within a specified distance from your selected feature in another layer. In other words, if you want to find disabled parking within 500 feet of a building, select the building first (with the "Select" tool). Then use the buffer tool to find all the disabled parking within 500ft of that building.
7.)The clear tool will clear any selections that you make. This is a good thing to do before you do another selection.
